Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro, the latest gaming mobiles with 90Hz screen and 5G connectivity

Gaming mobiles are in luck, technology is improving in the direction they demand most, more speed and faster screens. Black Shark, one of the Chinese brands specialized in this sector has presented this week its latest models with these qualities.

These technological developments are reaching a large number of mobiles, even those that are not so focused on this world. The new Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro feature 5G connectivity and a screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz to enhance the experience.

The design gives them away, they are very similar to each other with a very characteristic style of the gaming industry. Both inside and outside, both models are very similar, with subtle differences in size and not so subtle. The Black Shark 3 Pro has some physical side triggers to facilitate the gaming experience.

Gaming design, with a large screen and triple camera

As we said the design maintains the striking lines of the first Black Sharks, leaving the cameras as protagonists of a central triangular platform. In contrast, the same platform is repeated at the bottom of the housing where they have placed a charging port with PoGo pins, next to the sign that it is mobile compatible with 5G networks. The Black Shark S stays in the center in a bright green tone.

The two models have the same camera set on both sides. Behind we have the main sensor of 64 megapixels, a wide-angle of 5 megapixels and the third camera of 13 megapixels. On the front, the selfies are in charge of a 20-megapixel camera located in the upper frame, no perforated screen or drop-type notch.

On the front is also, of course, the screen of good size. The Black Shark 3 Pro is a bit larger with 7.1 inches. Nor do they coincide in the resolution, the 3 panel is 6.67-inch AMOLED with FullHD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels), while the one in the Pro model the resolution is  2K + (3,120 x 1,440 pixels).

Both screens are compatible with DC Dimming, TrueView and HDR10 +, and offer a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a sampling rate of 270 Hz. Below these panels we find the fingerprint reader to unlock the terminal

Power in charge of the newest of Qualcomm

Inside the differences dissipate even more. The two equip the best of Qualcomm’s processors today, the Snapdragon 865 processor. This allows them to be compatible with 5G NSA and SA networks, that is, they can enjoy all the benefits of 5G when the deployment of these networks is finished.

They differ somewhat more in the variety of combinations of storage and available RAM space and on which the final price will depend. In any case, they have sufficient capacity to offer the best performance, and as a method to control the heat of the device, they are designed with a steam chamber cooling system.

With this power, how long will your battery last? In the absence of evidence, the two variants integrate batteries of good size between the 4,720 mAh of the standard model, and the 5,000 mAh of the 3 Pro. To charge it, they have also included 65 W fast-charging systems.

At the moment both models are only available in China, we do not know if the brand will be encouraged to present them outside the Great Wall. Prices range from 3,499 yuan ( 451 euros to change) in the most basic model, the Black Shark 3 of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage; up to 4,999 yuan ( 644 euros to change) that costs the Black Shark 3 Pro of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
